American premiere performance of Rudi Martinus van Dijk’s Violin Sonata is a resounding success!
Violinist, and Foundation Secretary and board member, Anthony Marwood and London-based pianist, Julian Chan performed Rudii Martinus van Dijk’s Violin Sonata to a packed house at Yellow Barn Music Festival’s Big Barn yesterday evening in Putney, Vermont. I was fortunate to attend this performance as I myself performed two nights before as narrator in Viktor Ullmann’s Die Weise van Liebe und Tod des Cornets Christoph Rilke with wonderful Julian! The American premiere of Rudi’s work most certainly opened up a door to his music as many young musicians were deeply struck by the work. Anthony and Julian played brilliantly and many of Anthony’s colleagues, Yellow Barn Faculty and highly accomplished musicians in their own right, were glowing with praise of the work and the extraordinary performance last night.
Great news for the foundation’s mission to spread international awareness of Rudi’s work!
